Meeting Preview |
Our
March 7th. meeting will feature a presentation by
Paul Derr. Paul is Co-Chair of the Red Cross Disaster
Management Team. Paul plans to bring his Disaster Action Team
co-chair, Kathy Murrow, with him to help with the presentation.
Paul and Kathy have been active with the Red Cross Disaster Team
since Hurricane Isabel. He is consider the Red Cross disaster
assessment "guru" and both he and Kathy were deployed this past
summer and fall to work on the Red Cross response to Hurricane’s
Katrina and Rita.
Their
presentation promises to be informative and engaging.

Our
February 7th speaker was Dr. Gihan Mandour of Christopher Newport
University. Dr. Mandour is a professor of Computers and
Electrical Engineering. Dr.
Mandour spoke on her special research interest in speech processing and
adaptive filtering.
